Just a three lettered word and yet so significantly meaningful- EMA-meaning mother/mom/mumma.
Hmm, the memory is vague enough but I still remember the phrase -EMA LAAKHINI-(anyone can acknowledge me whether it's a name of a movie or a play or a prose since I have lost track of the real context when I came across this phrase)Let me relate why I am mentioning the phrase today in my next blog related to the same.
Well, it's not mother's day but for me today seems to be the real MOTHER"S DAY. I miss her everyday but today I am missing her more than necessary (hehehe yabrane). Last night I saw her in my dreams. She always comes to my dreams whenever I am sick or stressed with hell lotcha works and would always fondle me lovingly in her affectionate ways. Gawd! She is my angel, my sweetheart. This Yaoshang during my home visit I will try to present my Mumma one of the best daughters residing on this blue planet------well tats none other than ME--lolazzzz. Well, I need to work out certain things about how I will make my Mumma proud of me and let me keep this back under privacy policies (ezzz yabrane).
Well, I recently watched a hindi movie---Dashvidaniya---the story of a dying man and how he tries to live the best moments of life before he dies. In that movie I came across a particular song --- Meri Maa Pyaari Maa Mumma--- Gawd! I love the song and tears rolled down my cheeks listening that song. Umm, well one more song which I would love to share is ‘Goodbye is the saddest word' -sung by Celine Dion. It's a wonderful song sung with a theme of a girl's life's journey.....the song reflects how a baby turns into a lady and finally gets wedded and all the while her mumma takes care of her..........such a heartfelt theme in fact hmm. Sharing the lyrics of the song here:
Mamma
You gave life to me
Turned a baby into a lady
Mamma
All you had to offer
Was the promise of a lifetime of love
Now I know
There is no other
Love like a mother's love for her child
And I know
A love so complete
Someday must leave
Must say goodbye
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear
Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near
Someday you'll say that word and I will cry
It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
Mamma
You gave love to me
Turned a young one into a woman
Mamma
All I ever needed
Was a guarantee of you loving me
'Cause I know
There is no other
Love like a mother's love for her child
And it hurts so
That something so strong
Someday will be gone, must say goodbye
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear
Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near
Someday you'll say that word and I will cry
It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
But the love you gave me will always live
You'll always be there every time I fall
You are to me the greatest love of all
You take my weakness and you make me strong
And I will always love you 'til forever comes
And when you need me
I'll be there for you always
I'll be there your whole life through
I'll be there this I promise you, Mamma
Mamma, I'll be
I'll be your beacon through the darkest nights
I'll be the wings that guide your broken flight
I'll be your shelter through the raging storm
And I will love you 'till forever comes
Goodbye's the saddest word I'll ever hear
Goodbye's the last time I will hold you near
Someday you'll say that word and I will cry
It'll break my heart to hear you say goodbye
'Till we meet again...
Until then...
Goodbye
Well, this one goes for my Mumma---I have hardly said I LOVE YOU to anyone (male/female) BUT I LOVE YOU MUMMA and you are all I have to hold on muaaah (sezz yabraney)

The Ningol- A streamline version
Panthou maangol Khenjonglaang charaai yongkham maangda thaa....samlaang koikaknaribi nuja yetna huum oina oak oina huum yetna oak....paangadem jagoi saariye charei feejil feliye.........
One of the classical melodies sung by Pabung Tombisana and yes my inspirational source for coming up with the theme -The Ningol. The set of ideas I have so far conjured up about this theme is a replica of some sentimental and nostalgic nuances. Excluding myself from the population, I dedicate this piece of article to all those Meitei Chanus who truly deserve to be acknowledged as -The Ningol.
Meesum heibi kanagi yawada.....artha chenbi kanagi meenokta..........She is the source of inspiration of a poet. She is a beacon of hope for a timeless traveler..........................................etc etc. As you all know (and for those who did not know , know it now) I usually detest the very idea of indulging myself in a self appreciation club and moreover if I happen to write some more liners further praising the Ningol, then maybe it would be an indigestive element for the opposite gender (ahem). So, let me keep it short and crisp (hmm). After all crispy things are yummy as well. Alright! I was talking about the Ningol and I am still attaching my strings to the topic. I have zero idea about who is the ideal Ningol in this century and to be honest I am not keen to know in fact. If I have to keep my opinions in black and white then I have many issues with modern Ningols in particular among which I do not even exclude myself. Seems we are really losing our charms and eloquences and all because we have started disbelieving the myths which have been associated with us since time immemorial. But alas! It's not happy news for us. The streamline version of modern Ningol is somehow not that appealing as it used to be. No chastity badge ever maintained....no code of decency ever used......all guilty desires on rein and the elegance is all questioned. Starting from private chat rooms to closed doors in rented apartments in metro politan cities (as well as other cities in India)and in dark cabin rooms in restaurants in Manipur it's all guilty dark tales going on around...I regret admitting this but it was not supposed to be the recipe of my desired theme - The Ningol. My blog may be mercilessly criticized. It may either be appreciated. But I did not write it to be criticized or appreciated. I just wanted to generate an idea to each and every single Ningol in particular. Will you be with me to revive back the lost icon of The Ningol????
I do not mean anything negative towards any gender in this blog. It's just another choiron of mine......please digest with a pinch of salt.....after all it's a slice of life.
